Job Description:

  • Full time, non-exempt staff position in the Finance Office;
  • prepare and review monthly financial statements;
  • prepare various tax and government related reports;
  • prepare Journal Vouchers to record financial transactions and error corrections;
  • ensure that subsidiary ledgers agree to the GL through reconciliation;
  • prepare monthly account reconciliations as required;
  • process and prepare documentation for payment of various employment benefits;
  • assist Controller and Assistant Controller in analysis of financial reports, development of procedures, and special projects;
  • review and process gift information from Development into the GL;
  • provide staff support for the year-end audit;
  • monitor general receivables for timely billings and payments;
  • participate in cross-organizational and functional teams aimed at quality improvement and process evaluation;
  • coordinate with Computer & Information Systems and our Computer Services Manager in computer and database maintenance to insure the integrity of accounting information
  • other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, including accounting coursework;
  • two years of accounting experience;
  • working knowledge of accounting principles and practices;
  • computer literate (Excel, Access, and mainframe applications;

Preferred:

  • Four years of accounting experience;
  • detailed knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
