Job Description:

  • Full-time, exempt staff position in the Office of Residence Life;
  • Translate SPU's overall philosophy and objectives into a practical and meaningful set of programs, activities and services for students within their living environment;
  • supervise, recruit, educate and advise student staff and residents;
  • provide counseling and referral services to individual students;
  • interpret University housing policies, rules and procedures to staff and residents;
  • coordinate student-related educational, personal, spiritual, recreational and social activities and experiences;
  • direct the student discipline process for residence halls; instruct leadership development courses;
  • educate students regarding issues of Christian growth, values clarification, lifestyle choices, relationship issues, and other areas of personal growth
  • other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in student development, student personnel services or related field;
  • a proven understanding of and commitment to student development;
  • an ability to assume leadership in promoting a multicultural living, educational and work environment.

Preferred:

  • previous residence-life experience.
